Good listings have several: a clear shot of each side, the hour meter, attachments, and close-ups of the compliance or cert plate and any load chart or safe working load sticker, so hirers can see the limits for themselves.

Private or In Trade?

Private owner

You're hiring out your own gear now and then: a farm tractor, a trailer, a log splitter. Your listing shows a Private owner badge.

In Trade

You hire out gear as part of your business. Your listing shows the In Trade badge and your business name, and you'll need an NZBN or ABN.

Your responsibilities

Keep your gear safe and serviced, give hirers the safety information they need, and agree insurance with each hirer. Check your policy covers hire to others; Mates Gear doesn't insure anyone.
